At the e ndof their recent round of collective bargaining, Deutsche Post DHLGroup and German labor union ver.di agreed to make aforward-looking change to Deutsche Post AG's collective companyagreement. "Against the background of the ongoing restructuring ofthe German mail and parcel business, we have reached an importantmilestone which means security for employees and offers long-termopportunities for the company. This agreement is a further steptowards competitive wage structures in the mail and parcel market,building a foundation for sustainable business success. We are alsoconsciously distancing ourselves from low-wage competition in thesector," explains Frank Appel, CEO of Deutsche Post DHL Group.
The agreement establishes a uniform collective company agreementallowing the company to consolidate its position as the bestemployer in the sector. At the heart of the agreement is anamendment which builds on the existing collective companyagreement, and will enable the company to continue moving towardscompetitive wages for all new employees while allowing regionaldifferences to be taken into account. The new arrangements alsoallow the 13,000 DHL Delivery GmbH employees covered by theregional collective agreements for freight forwarding and logisticsto be transferred to Deutsche Post AG's collective companyagreement on July 1, 2019.
